Elana Afrika-Bredenkamp, Host

Elana Afrika-Bredenkamp is an award-winning radio presenter as well as the founder and presenter of SA’s #1 parenting podcast. Further celebrated as a TV, Film, commercial and stage performer, Elana is undoubtedly one of the country’s leading broadcasters. 

 

A highly-sought after Master of Ceremonies, Elana is in high-demand as event host, conference facilitator and key-note speaker. Her recent clients include Mercedes Benz SA, Momentum, SPAR, Standard Bank, ABSA, Nedbank, OUTsurance, Laureus Awards and many more. 

 

Elana conceptualised the “Parent & Baby Brunch” podcasts in 2016. The series has grown from strength to strength, garnering over 200 000 unique streams to date. It regularly ranks on Apple and Spotify’s podcast charts.

 

Recently she launched a new podcast series “Boardroom Besties”. These episodes feature conversations between Elana and inspiring, successful women.

 

A doting mom, Elana is the mother of two young daughters and manages ballet recitals and after-school hockey whilst presenting one of the country’s most-listened-to midmorning radio shows on Jacaranda fm. Her relationship with her listeners is sincere and intimate as she broadcasts across the pulse of SA, Gauteng, Mondays to Fridays as well as KZN, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, Northwest and Free State. 

 

Elana’s TV presenting work includes SABC3 Expresso Show, Supersport, Mnet’s The Road to Miss South Africa, kykNET’s Parlement Parlement and kykNET’s Afskaal. 

 

As an actress she has starred in TV shows including Fynskrif and Sara Se Geheim. Her film work includes The Fix (USA), Hollywood in my Huis, Footskating 101 and many more. 

 

Her hobbies include wine-making and golf.

 

Elana lives between Johannesburg and Cape Town with her husband and two daughters.

Christine Service, Senior Vice President, General Manager, The Walt Disney Company Africa

As Senior Vice President and General Manager for The Walt Disney Company Africa, Christine is responsible for all TWDC operations in South Africa as well as Non-French-speaking Sub-Saharan Africa. Christine has a 23-year career at Disney and has been based in Johannesburg for the last 18 years. Prior to her current role, Christine was Vice President of Ventures and Business Development within the then Walt Disney International Television group based in London. In this role she was responsible for managing Disney’s television investments across Europe Middle East and Africa as well as expanding Disney’s channel portfolio across the region.

 

Prior to joining Disney, Christine spent 6 years working for the international management consulting firm, McKinsey & Company.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Waterloo in Canada as well as an MPhil from Cambridge University, UK.

Tracy-Ann Van Rooyen, Senior Manager, Programming and Scheduling, The Walt Disney Company Africa

As Senior Manager for Programming and Scheduling, Tracy-Ann and her team are responsible for all content planning, scheduling and production of all TWDCA’s original programming for both the linear and streaming platforms. Prior to her current role, Tracy-Ann was Head of Acquisitions and Scheduling for the M-Net Series Channels. In this role, she was responsible for the acquisition of local and international content for the M-Net local channels as well as the overall programming plan for M-Net 101.  She had previously been the head of programming for the M-Net Local Entertainment Channels and was responsible for content planning and programming strategy for several flagship channels such as Mzansi Magic, Vuzu and Channel O. During this time she also launched of several GE and bespoke series channels such as 1 Magic, Novela Magic, M-Net City and several pop up channels.

 

Prior to joining M-Net, Tracy-Ann was an executive producer at Endemol South Africa where she honed her creative skills on several local and international productions and formats which include, Survivor SA, Clash of the Choirs SA, Isidingo and many more for local and international broadcasters.
